From Innovation to Regulation

When Seeing Machines was founded over 20 years ago, the big idea was for driver monitoring system (DMS) technology to enable the development of the crash-proof vehicle. This vision has stood the test of time and applies today, more than ever before, with DMS technology fast becoming a safety requirement in all future vehicles.

Mike Lenné PhD, now head of Science and Innovation, talks to Paul McGlone about priorities for our tech, specifically in reference to ongoing and increasing Auto RFQ processes. They then take a deep dive into how regulation is playing out across the world, what it means for DMS and the role Seeing Machines is playing in that roll-out.

Business Update from Paul

Paul provides a business update across all Seeing Machines BUs, with a specific focus on Fleet, in the first instance. Guardian sales continue to grow and he is delighted to see that the Shell Framework Agreement is starting to bring a range of new opportunities for the business. Further, as regulation requires DMS in all vehicles in Europe, the sales focus has evolved to target After Manufacture, where heavy vehicle manufacturers will be working with Seeing Machines to fit their vehicles with Guardian, after they have been manufactured, but prior to being sold.
