Guardian Generation 2 software version 1.7.2 safe launch plan phase 3
Dear Colleague,
Further to our26 August 2024notification, Seeing Machines will commence phase 3 of the Guardian Generation 2 software (SW) version 1.7.2 safe launch plan (SLP) on 10th September 2024.
Safe launch plan
Phase 2 of the SLP for SW version 1.7.2 has now concluded. We are pleased to report this update continues to achieve anticipated.
Key dates for the SLP are currently as follows.*
Phase 3 (additional 1,500 vehicles) – 10th September 2024
Global release (all remaining vehicles) – 24th September 2024

Software improvements
For information on all improvements included in SW version 1.7.2, please refer to our 09 August 2024 notification.
Release of SW version 1.7.2 will be applied over-the-air (OTA) to Guardian systems running on the latest SW version 1.6.1 and above. Systems running on the old SW version 1.6.1 and older are unable to be updated OTA and will require a dongle update.
What action is required?
New Guardian units installed during the SLP period noted above will automatically be updated to SW version 1.7.2. If you do not wish for the unit/s to be updated during this time, please contact your Account Manager or Guardian Support prior to installation.
